I want to share a little about me. My first experience with hemorrhoids was when I was pregnant many years ago. Frankly, there is nothing worse than being pregnant with hemorrhoids.

I had never had hemorrhoids before, and it frankly scared me.

And to add insult to injury, I was embarrassed to ask my doctor about them. I finally got up the courage to discuss it with him, but not before I suffered needlessly for two weeks.

My doctor recommended suppositories to relieve my hemorrhoids at that time.

After my baby was born, my doctor prescribed sitz baths to help soothe my hemorrhoids. He also prescribed a product called Tucks to use to clean the area after toilet duties.

Later in life, hemorrhoids reared their ugly heads again. This time, I experienced blood on the tissue paper after toilet duties. This scared me to death. I thought I had cancer for sure. This time, I was not so shy. I rushed to my doctor to check it out.

These were evidently external hemorrhoids, because the doctor performed a small procedure in his office, and I was better for a time.

Interestingly enough, it was not until I started researching the information for this site that I learned about the many different types of hemorrhoids, and the various hemorrhoid treatments available.

In fact, I did not know until now that my lifelong struggle with constipation was the likely cause of my hemorrhoid problems.

Now I know, and because you found this website, you will know that, too, along with everything else I could find about hemorrhoids.
