If the hemorrhoids are external use a protectant such as aloe or mineral oil to soothe the affected area and reduce anal itching and irritation.

Wear Cotton Underwear

Cotton underwear will allow air to get to the area that is affected by hemorrhoids. Since cotton is a breathable fabric it is a better choice than wearing nylon or other type of underwear made from synthetic fabrics.
